It seemed fine, so I went ahead and steamed the whole thing. It definitely freshened it up, and I think it even got rid of some lingering odors. I didn't use the vacuum function on the couch because I didn't want to get it too wet. I just let it air dry.

Cleaning the machine itself was pretty straightforward. I just emptied the dirty water tank and rinsed it out. I also wiped down the outside of the machine and the attachments. I'm definitely going to make this part of my regular cleaning routine – otherwise, I can see the thing getting pretty gross after a while.
