Alright, so I finally bit the bullet and got myself a steam wet dry vacuum. Been seeing these things all over the place, and my carpets were starting to look a little sad, you know? Plus, with the dog shedding like crazy, I figured it was time to upgrade from just a regular vacuum.

First thing I did was unbox the darn thing. It had a bunch of attachments – nozzles, brushes, the whole shebang. Spent a good fifteen minutes just figuring out what went where. The instructions weren't exactly crystal clear, if you know what I mean. But eventually, I got it all assembled. Looked pretty impressive, I gotta say.

Next up, I filled the water tank. My model had a separate compartment for the cleaning solution, so I added a little bit of that too. Didn’t wanna go overboard, just enough to give the carpets a nice fresh scent. After that, I plugged it in and waited for it to heat up. It took a couple of minutes, but once it was ready, the indicator light came on. Time to get cleaning!

I started in the living room. We've got a pretty big area rug in there, and it gets a lot of foot traffic. I set the steam level to medium, and started going back and forth, overlapping each pass. You could actually see the dirt and grime getting sucked up! The water was turning a lovely shade of brown – yuck! But it was also super satisfying, knowing that I was actually getting the carpets clean.

One thing I noticed was that the vacuum was a little heavier than my old one. It wasn't terrible, but my arms definitely got a workout. Also, the cord could have been a bit longer. I had to keep unplugging it and moving it to different outlets to reach the whole room. Minor annoyances, though, considering how well it was cleaning.

After the living room, I moved on to the bedrooms. I used a lower steam setting for these areas, since the carpets aren't as heavily soiled. I also tried out a couple of the different attachments. The crevice tool was great for getting into tight corners, and the upholstery brush worked wonders on the couch.

Once I was finished vacuuming, I emptied the dirty water tank. Man, that thing was GROSS! Seriously, I couldn’t believe how much dirt and stuff had come out of my carpets. It was kinda disgusting, but also kinda cool. Like, "Wow, that was actually hiding in my floors?"

The final step was letting the carpets dry. I opened up the windows and turned on a fan to speed things up. It took a few hours, but eventually everything was dry to the touch. And let me tell you, the difference was HUGE! The carpets looked brighter, felt softer, and smelled amazing. It was like having brand new carpets again.

Overall, I'm really happy with my steam wet dry vacuum. It's definitely a step up from my old vacuum, and it does a great job of cleaning and freshening up the carpets. Yeah, it's a little heavy and the cord could be longer, but those are just minor complaints. If you're looking for a way to deep clean your carpets without hiring a professional, I'd definitely recommend giving one of these a try.
