Power Washer Soap Dispenser: Find the Perfect One for You

Alright, so I got tired of just blasting water at the grime on my siding and the car. Felt like it wasn't really getting things clean, you know? Just moving dirt around sometimes. I remembered seeing those soap dispenser attachments for power washers, figured I’d give one a shot.

Picked one up, wasn't anything fancy. Got home, unpacked the power washer. Attaching the soap thingy was pretty straightforward. It just kinda snapped onto the end of the spray wand where the normal nozzle goes. Easy enough.

First Go - Mixing the Soap

Then came the soap part. I just grabbed some all-purpose outdoor cleaner I had in the garage. The instructions on the bottle said something about diluting, but the dispenser itself didn't say much. So, I kinda guessed. Poured some soap concentrate into the little plastic bottle on the attachment, then topped it up with water. Gave it a little shake. Hoped for the best.

Firing It Up

Hooked up the water, turned on the machine. Squeezed the trigger. For a second, just water came out, then... suds! Wasn't like super thick foam you see in car wash videos, more like really soapy water spraying out. It uses the low-pressure setting, by the way. Found that out quick. The high-pressure tips bypass the soap usually.

I started on a section of the vinyl siding that gets that green mildew stuff. Sprayed the soapy mix all over it, let it sit for a few minutes like the cleaner bottle suggested. You could see the green stuff start to look a bit loose, kinda drippy.

Did it work?

Yeah, surprisingly well, actually. After letting it sit, I popped the regular high-pressure nozzle back on the wand (had to take the soap dispenser off first, obviously). Blasted the area I'd soaped. The grime and mildew came off way easier than when I just used water pressure alone. Saved me a lot of time going back and forth over the same spot.

Used it on the car too. Same deal. Soaped it all down, let it sit, then rinsed. Got rid of that road film much better.

Things I Noticed

  • It uses soap kinda fast. That little bottle needed refilling sooner than I expected, especially doing the whole side of the house.
  • You gotta remember to rinse the dispenser out with plain water afterwards. Run the washer with just water in the soap bottle for a bit. Don't want that stuff gunking up inside.
  • Different soaps probably give different results. The stuff I used was okay, maybe a dedicated power washer soap would foam up more. Dunno.

So, yeah. The power washer soap dispenser. It’s not magic, but it definitely made cleaning bigger stuff like siding and vehicles less of a chore. Worth having around, I'd say. Simple tool, but helps get the job done better.
