Okay, so I finally got around to getting some extra bits for my Karcher pressure washer. Been meaning to do it for ages, figured it was time to make cleaning a bit less of a chore.

Getting Started

First thing, I unboxed the stuff. I picked up one of those T-Racer surface cleaner things – the round patio cleaner – and a couple of different nozzle attachments, plus a soft wash brush. Everything felt pretty solid, typical Karcher quality I guess. Nothing looked too complicated which was good.

Hooking Them Up

Connecting them was pretty straightforward. The surface cleaner just clicked onto the end of the lance where the normal nozzle goes. Took like, two seconds. Same deal with the other nozzles and the brush. Just a quick twist and click system, nice and easy, no tools needed. I filled up the pressure washer, connected the hose, and was ready to give it a whirl.

Trying the Surface Cleaner (T-Racer)

I started with the T-Racer on the patio. It was looking pretty grim, lots of green algae and general muck from winter. I fired up the pressure washer and started pushing the T-Racer across the slabs. Big difference right away. It contains the spray really well, so I wasn't getting soaked like I usually do with just the lance. It covered the ground much faster too. It glided pretty easily. It lifted most of the surface dirt and algae without much effort. For really stubborn spots, I still had to go over them a couple of times, or maybe hit them with a stronger nozzle later, but for a large area, this thing was great. Definitely saved my back and kept the mess down.

Testing the Other Nozzles

Next, I swapped to the Vario Power spray lance. This one lets you twist to change the pressure. I used it to clean the garden fence. Lower pressure setting worked well for the wood, didn't want to strip any paint or damage it. Then I cranked it up a bit for some dirty plastic garden chairs, got the grime off them easily. I also tried the Dirt Blaster nozzle – the one with the rotating pencil jet. Wow, that thing has some power. I used it on some really tough, oily stains on the driveway concrete that the T-Racer didn't fully lift. It blasted them right off, but you have to be careful, it's pretty aggressive. Wouldn't use it on the car paint, that's for sure.

Using the Wash Brush

Finally, I attached the soft wash brush. I used this mainly on the car, especially the wheels and lower bodywork where dirt collects. I dipped it in a bucket of car soap first. The bristles are soft enough that I wasn't worried about scratching the paint. The water flows through the brush which helps rinse as you scrub. It was decent for loosening up road grime before giving it a proper rinse with the Vario lance on a low setting. It’s not going to replace good old elbow grease for really baked-on stuff, but it's handy for getting soapy water onto the surface and gently scrubbing.

Final Thoughts

So, yeah, overall I'm pretty pleased with these Karcher accessories. They definitely add versatility to the pressure washer.

  • The T-Racer surface cleaner is probably the star for me – makes cleaning large flat areas like patios and driveways much quicker and cleaner.
  • The Vario Power lance is great for adjusting pressure on the fly for different surfaces.
  • The Dirt Blaster is powerful for really tough spots, just need to use it carefully.
  • The wash brush is useful for vehicles or garden furniture where you need a softer touch.

They weren't super cheap, but they feel like they'll last, and they genuinely made the cleaning tasks I did easier and faster. Definitely expands what you can do with the basic pressure washer unit. Happy I got them.
