Is the power blaster pressure washer any good? See what users say about its cleaning power.

Alright, let me tell you about tackling the grime this weekend. Had this thing, a power blaster pressure washer, sitting in the garage begging to be used.

Getting Started

First things first, dragged it out. It wasn't too heavy, which was nice. Snapped the handle into place – just a couple of clicks. Then, the hoses. Hooked up my garden hose to the inlet, easy peasy. Connected the high-pressure hose to the machine and then screwed the spray gun onto the other end. Felt solid enough.

I glanced at the instructions, mostly pictures. Seemed simple: water on, power on, squeeze trigger. Okay, let's do this.

Firing It Up

Turned the spigot on full blast. Checked for leaks – none, good. Plugged the cord in (it's an electric one, less fuss for me). Took a deep breath, aimed the gun at a dirty patch of concrete, away from the windows, and squeezed the trigger.

Whoa! Okay, it definitely had some kick. Not like gonna-fly-out-of-my-hands kick, but you know it's working. The noise wasn't too bad either, less than a gas mower for sure.

The Actual Cleaning

Started on the patio slabs. They were green, like, properly green with algae and mossy stuff. I used the nozzle that looked like a fan spray first. Held the gun maybe a foot away and just swept back and forth, slow and steady.

  • The difference was immediate. Clean concrete appeared like magic.
  • It was honestly super satisfying, watching years of dirt just wash away.
  • Had to be careful near the edges not to dig out the sand between the slabs.

Moved onto the wooden deck stairs next. Switched to a wider-angle nozzle, the instructions suggested that for wood. Didn't want to carve my name into it by accident. It took off the slippery green film without tearing up the wood fibers. Took a bit longer because I was being cautious, but it worked great.

Tackling Tough Spots

There were some stubborn oil stains on the driveway. Tried the fan spray, didn't do much. Okay, time for the "power blaster" part, right? Switched to the pinpoint nozzle, the really focused one. Got up close and personal with those stains. It took some concentration, going over them slowly, but it definitely broke them up. Didn't remove them completely, those things are old, but way better than before. You gotta respect the power of that focused jet – wouldn't want to hit your foot with it!

Lessons Learned & Wrap-up

Couple of things I figured out:

  • Wear boots. You will get wet and probably muddy.
  • Move methodically. Overlapping strokes give you an even clean. Rushing makes stripes.
  • Keep the nozzle moving; staying in one spot too long, especially with the power nozzle, can damage surfaces.

After doing the patio, stairs, and a section of the driveway, I called it a day. Turned off the power, turned off the water. Squeezed the trigger to release the pressure – important step, don't forget! Disconnected the hoses, wiped the machine down a bit, and rolled it back into the garage.

Overall? Yeah, it did the job. That power blaster thing really blasted away the worst of the grime. Made a tedious job kinda fun, actually. Everything looks a whole lot better out there now.
