Is a broom pressure washer attachment effective? See how it tackles large flat surfaces easily.

My Go With That Broom Pressure Washer Thing

Okay, so let me tell you about this weekend. My driveway was looking absolutely terrible. Seriously, years of dirt, moss growing in the shady spots, just grime everywhere. I’d tried hitting it with the regular pressure washer nozzle before, you know, the pointy one? Took forever, left zebra stripes all over the place, and I ended up soaked. Just wasn't cutting it.

I was complaining about it, and someone mentioned these pressure washer attachments that look like a floor buffer or a wide broom head. They called it a surface cleaner, but 'broom pressure washer' kinda stuck in my head. Sounded interesting, promised to be faster and stop those annoying stripes. So, I figured, why not? Picked one up.

Getting it Hooked Up

Got it out of the box. Looked simple enough. Basically a big plastic dome with spinning spray bars underneath and a connection for my pressure washer wand. Connecting it was mostly straightforward, just a quick-connect fitting like the regular nozzles. Had to make sure it clicked in securely, though. Gave it a good wiggle.

Pushing It Around

Alright, time for the real test. Fired up the pressure washer. Lowered the broom thing onto the concrete. Pulled the trigger. Whoa! It sort of hovers a tiny bit, makes it surprisingly easy to glide around. Way different from just using the wand. I started pushing it back and forth across the driveway, nice and steady.

  • Covered ground way faster than just the nozzle. Like, seriously cut down the time.
  • The spray is contained under the dome, so less mess splashing everywhere. My pants stayed mostly dry, which was a nice change.
  • It did seem to clean more evenly. Those zebra stripes? Gone. Just a consistent clean surface.

It wasn't totally effortless, mind you. You still gotta guide it, especially on slightly uneven parts. And it makes a different kind of noise, like a whirring sound from the spray bars spinning under the cover. But compared to the old way? Night and day.

The Results and Final Thoughts

I spent maybe half the time I would have normally spent. And the result? Man, the driveway looks heaps better. Like, properly clean. No weird lines, just one uniform color (well, the color of clean concrete, anyway). Took off all the green slime and baked-on dirt.

So, was it worth it? Yeah, absolutely. If you've got a big flat area like a driveway, patio, or deck to clean, one of these broom pressure washer things is a game-changer. Seriously.

It just works. Made a tedious job much quicker and gave a better finish. Didn't have any real problems with it, just had to keep a steady pace pushing it. Simple tool, does what it says. Thumbs up from me.
