Hose Jet Spray: Top Brands Compared for You

Alright, so I finally got around to trying out that new hose jet spray attachment I picked up last week. My old nozzle was pretty much done for, barely sputtering water out.

Getting Started

Pulled it out of the plastic packaging. It felt pretty solid, mostly metal with some rubbery grip parts. Looked simple enough, twisty bit at the front to change the spray, handle at the back.

Went out to the backyard spigot. Unscrewed the leaky old nozzle first. This new one just screwed right on, standard hose thread. Snugged it up by hand, didn't seem to need a wrench or anything. Seemed like a good fit, no obvious gaps.

First Test Run

Hooked the hose up and turned the water on. No leaks at the connection, which was a good start! The nozzle was off by default, had to squeeze the handle. First squeeze, wow, okay, that's some pressure. It was set to the 'jet' stream right out of the box.

Pointed it at the dirty pavement near the bins. That jet stream really blasted the grime off. It shot pretty far too, easily reached the back fence. Definitely stronger than my old one.

Trying the Different Sprays

Okay, time to see what else it could do. I started twisting the front part.

  • Jet: Already tried this. Good for stubborn spots, cleaning grout lines on the patio.
  • Cone: Twisted it a bit, got a wider cone shape. Used this to rinse down the dusty patio chairs. Covered a bigger area faster than the jet. Still decent pressure.
  • Shower: Twisted more, got a softer 'shower' type spray. This felt like what you'd use for watering containers or maybe rinsing the car without stripping wax. Used it on the potted plants by the door, seemed gentle enough.
  • Mist: A really fine spray. Good for delicate seedlings maybe? I tried it on the ferns, they seemed to like it. Not much cleaning power here, obviously.
  • Flat: Found a flat, wide spray pattern too. This was handy for sweeping leaves off the driveway into a pile. Like a water broom.

Switching between patterns was easy, just a simple twist. The handle trigger felt okay, pretty standard spring-loaded thing. Held it down for about 10 minutes while washing down the patio furniture, hand didn't get too tired.

Overall Thoughts

So yeah, it worked. Did the job I wanted it for, mainly cleaning up the patio and washing down muddy garden tools. The jet spray is definitely powerful, maybe even a bit too much for some things, gotta be careful where you point it. The other settings are useful variations.

It feels sturdy enough for now. We'll see how it holds up over the summer with more use. Connection was easy, using it is straightforward. Big improvement over the old dribbly nozzle, that's for sure. Pretty happy with it so far.
