Get the best circular pressure washing attachment? Tips for choosing the right one for your washer.

Alright, let me tell you about trying out one of those circular pressure washing attachments. My driveway was looking pretty rough, algae spots, dirt, the usual stuff. Using just the regular pressure washer wand always left me with annoying stripes, no matter how careful I was. Plus, it took forever and got water and muck everywhere.

So, I went ahead and got one of these surface cleaner attachments. Looked like a big frisbee with brushes around the edge and the nozzle thing underneath. Didn't seem too complicated when I took it out of the box. Felt solid enough.

Getting it Ready

First thing was hooking it up. Just had to connect it to the end of my pressure washer wand. It clicked right in, pretty simple connection, thankfully. No special tools needed, which was nice. Then, hooked up the pressure washer like normal – garden hose on, turned the water on, fired up the machine.

Putting it to Work

I started on a real dirty patch of the concrete patio out back. Pulled the trigger on the pressure washer, and the attachment kind of hovered a tiny bit off the ground as the water started blasting underneath. It wasn't loud like the jet nozzle, more of a contained whooshing sound.

Using it felt different. Instead of swinging the wand back and forth like a maniac trying to overlap properly, I just sort of guided this thing along. Kind of like using a vacuum cleaner or a floor buffer, but way wetter. I found going slow and steady, overlapping each pass by a few inches, worked best. You push it forward, pull it back, move over a bit, repeat. Pretty straightforward.

Here’s what I noticed straight away:

  • Way less mess. The skirt around the edge did a decent job keeping most of the spray contained. Didn't get nearly as soaked as I usually do.
  • It was definitely faster on the big, open areas. Covered ground much quicker than just the wand tip.
  • The cleaning seemed really even. As I moved it, it left a clean path, and crucially, no stripes! That was the big win for me.

Now, it wasn't perfect for everything. Getting right up against walls or into tight corners was tricky. The round shape means you can't quite nudge it into a 90-degree angle. So, I did have to disconnect it and grab the regular wand with a fan nozzle for those little edge bits and tricky spots. Also, after using it for a solid hour on the driveway, holding the wand with this thing on the end felt a bit heavier than just the wand alone, but not too bad.

Finishing Up

Once I’d covered the whole area, I switched back to the regular wand to rinse everything down. Disconnecting the circular attachment was just as easy as putting it on. Gave the attachment itself a quick rinse to get the dirt off the underside and the brushes, then put it away.

Looking back at the driveway and patio, the difference was huge compared to my old attempts. Just a nice, uniform clean surface. For big flat areas like driveways, patios, sidewalks, this thing really made the job easier and gave much better results. Definitely less frustrating than chasing stripes around all day.
