Using your 30 second cleaner pressure washer? Top tips for cleaning your outdoor space like a pro.

Alright, so I gotta share what I was up to this weekend. You know how it is, there's always that one job around the house you keep putting off? For me, it was the north side of my shed. Thing was absolutely caked in that green, slimy stuff, plus a lovely layer of dirt that probably hadn’t been touched in years. Looked awful.

I’d been meaning to hit it with the pressure washer, but I also remembered this bottle of "30 Second Cleaner" I picked up a while back. Always kinda skeptical about stuff with names like that, you know? Sounds too good to be true. But I figured, why not give it a shot with the pressure washer this time? Couldn't make it worse.

Getting Set Up

So, Saturday morning, I dragged everything out. It’s always a bit of a production:

  • The trusty old pressure washer itself.
  • Hoses, gotta get the water hooked up.
  • That "30 Second Cleaner" concentrate.
  • My safety glasses, 'cause I’m not trying to get gunk in my eyes.

I mixed up the cleaner according to the bottle – just poured some into the pressure washer's detergent tank. Seemed simple enough. No fancy chemistry degree needed, thankfully.

The Actual Cleaning Part

First, I gave the whole grimy wall a quick rinse with just water, trying to knock off the loose bits. Then, I switched the pressure washer to the soap setting. Sprayed that "30 Second Cleaner" mix all over the nasty green patches and the dirt streaks. The bottle talks a big game about how fast it works. "Thirty seconds," right?

Well, I didn't time it with a stopwatch like a crazy person. I let it sit for a few minutes while I swapped the nozzle on the pressure washer back to a higher-pressure one. Gave it a little time to soak in and do its thing, whatever that might be. I could see the green stuff starting to look a bit... different. Looser, maybe?

Then I started blasting it with the plain water stream. And honestly, it made a difference. The grime was coming off much easier than times I've just used water alone. Especially that stubborn green algae stuff. It wasn't like a magic eraser, don't get me wrong. I still had to move the wand back and forth properly. But the cleaner definitely helped break down the crud. The pressure washer didn't have to work quite as hard on the really caked-on sections.

As for the "30 second" claim? Look, the whole job took longer than 30 seconds, obviously. You're still pressure washing. But I reckon the cleaner itself starts working pretty quick to loosen things. It cut down the time I had to spend on each section, for sure. Instead of blasting one spot for ages, it felt more like the dirt was ready to give up and wash away.

The Verdict?

By the time I was done, that side of the shed looked a hundred times better. Seriously. The green is gone, the dirt is gone. It’s not brand-spanking new, 'cause the paint is old, but it’s clean. And that’s all I was aiming for.

So, yeah, that "30 Second Cleaner" stuff, when you pair it with a decent pressure washer? Pretty good combo in my book. Made a nasty job a bit less nasty, and a bit quicker too. I’m actually looking around now wondering what else I can clean. Maybe the driveway's next!
