Man, that pressure washer question hits close to home! Just last weekend, I finally got around to trying to fire up my old pressure washer for spring cleaning. That beast hadn't been started in months, probably closer to a year honestly. Stuffed in the back corner of the garage. Typical.

Finding the Right Fix

Okay, so detergent-free SAE 30 was the golden ticket. Needed to get rid of the wrong oil pronto. Drained the crap right back out. Messy. Had to tilt the thing awkwardly over a pan. Got some on my jeans, naturally. Cleaned up the area, wiped around the cap and plug.

Made a fast trip to the auto parts store. Hunted down the oil section. Scanned the bottles carefully looking for those magic words: "Detergent-Free" and "SAE 30." Found it pretty quick, paid up.

Back home, poured in the new, correct oil. Made sure the level was spot on. Popped the cap back tight. Took a deep breath. Grabbed the pull cord... and gave it a solid pull.

VROOM! Fired right up! That engine screamed to life like it hadn't just been collecting dust for ages. Relief washed over me. Felt silly for grabbing the wrong stuff first time, but super glad I finally figured it out. Now I know: SAE 30, detergent-free. Every single time for that pressure washer engine.
