Okay, so I decided it was finally time to get my pool cleaned up. I'd been putting it off, you know how it is. But the leaves were piling up, and the water was starting to look a little...green. Not good.

First, I googled "local pool cleaning companies" just to see what was out there. I figured there'd be a few options, and I was right. There were a bunch!

Checked the Reviews

I started clicking through, looking at websites, and most importantly, checking the reviews. I mean, you gotta see what other people are saying, right? Some places had amazing reviews, all five stars and glowing comments. Others...not so much. I saw some real horror stories about missed appointments and shoddy work. I definitely crossed those off the list.

Make the Call to the Company

After narrowing it down to a couple of places that looked promising, I decided to make some calls. I wanted to get a feel for the people, see if they sounded professional and friendly. The first place I called, the lady was super nice and answered all my questions. She gave me a quote that seemed pretty reasonable, too.

• Just a few questions to get a basic idea

The second place...well, the guy who answered sounded like he was half asleep. And he was kind of rude, honestly. I hung up pretty quickly after that. No thanks!

Make Decision, and schedule the service

So, I went with the first company. They seemed like the best fit. I scheduled a cleaning for the next week, and they were able to come out right on time. The guy who showed up was great. He explained everything he was going to do, and he got right to work.

He skimmed the leaves, vacuumed the bottom, checked the chemicals...the whole nine yards. And let me tell you, when he was done, that pool looked amazing! Crystal clear and sparkling. It was like a brand new pool.

Honestly, I should have done this sooner. It was so worth it to have a professional take care of it. Now I can actually enjoy my pool without worrying about all the gunk and grime. Definitely going to keep them on a regular schedule.
