What makes a citrus cleaning company different? Get a truly fresh and eco-friendly clean.

So, the house got pretty messy a while back. You know how it is, life happens. I was looking around and thought, man, I really need some help getting this place back into shape. Just didn't have the time or, honestly, the energy to do a deep clean myself.

I started looking online for cleaning services. Found a bunch, obviously. But then one caught my eye, something about using citrus-based stuff. Called themselves a 'citrus cleaning company'. Sounded kinda fresh, maybe less harsh than the usual chemical smells you get? I'm always curious about these 'natural' options, though sometimes they don't work as well, you know?

Decided to Give Them a Shot

Anyway, I decided to give them a call. The person on the phone was friendly enough. Explained their deal – using cleaners made from oranges, lemons, that sort of thing. Said it was better for the environment and safe around pets, which was a plus for me. Getting a quote was straightforward. Wasn't the absolute cheapest, but wasn't crazy expensive either. So, I booked them for a Saturday morning.

The Cleaning Day Experience

Saturday came, and two people showed up right on time. They brought their own supplies, big surprise, lots of bottles that smelled distinctly… lemony. Not overpowering like some artificial lemon scents, but definitely citrusy. It was kinda nice, actually.

They got straight to work. I showed them around, pointed out a few problem areas – the kitchen grease, the soap scum in the bathroom. Standard stuff.

  • They started in the kitchen. Wiped down counters, cleaned the stove top.
  • Moved onto the bathrooms. Scrubbed the tub and toilet.
  • Then they did the floors and dusting everywhere else.

I sort of hung around, trying not to get in the way. Watched them use their sprays. They seemed to work pretty well, especially on the kitchen surfaces. The grease came off without too much trouble, which honestly surprised me a bit. I always figured you needed heavy-duty chemicals for that.

The bathroom took some effort. They put in the elbow grease, and the citrus cleaner seemed to cut through most of the grime. Maybe not quite as instantly as bleach might, but they got there. The whole time, the house just smelled like… well, like oranges and lemons. Way better than smelling bleach fumes for hours.

The Final Result

After a few hours, they were done. They packed up their gear and left. I walked around to inspect everything. Overall, pretty good! The place was definitely clean. Surfaces shone, floors were spotless, and the bathroom looked much better. That fresh citrus scent lingered for a bit, which was pleasant.

Was it a miracle clean? Maybe not quite. There was one stubborn spot on the shower door they couldn't completely get rid of, but they did mention it might need something stronger or more scrubbing time. Fair enough. For a regular deep clean using less harsh stuff, I was actually impressed.

My takeaway? This citrus cleaning thing wasn't just a gimmick. It worked. Maybe takes a tiny bit more effort on super tough spots compared to the heavy chemical stuff, but for 95% of the job, it did great. And the lack of that chemical smell was a huge bonus. I felt better breathing the air afterwards. I'd probably use them again, especially knowing it's a bit gentler on my home and maybe the planet too. Worth trying if you see one around.
