Okay, so I've been thinking about starting a cleaning business for a while, you know? Like, everyone's always busy, and who actually likes cleaning? So, I figured, why not give it a shot? I started small, just thinking about the basics.

Brainstorming the Name

First things first, I needed a name. I spent, like, a whole afternoon just jotting down ideas. Some were super cheesy, some were too serious. I wanted something that sounded professional but also, like, friendly, you know?

Getting My Supplies Together

Then came the fun part – shopping! I hit up the store and grabbed a bunch of cleaning supplies. I'm talking all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, some microfiber cloths (those things are amazing, seriously), a good mop, and a decent vacuum. I didn't want to go super cheap, but I also didn't want to break the bank before I even started, you feel me?

Testing My Skills (on My Own Place)

Before I even thought about cleaning someone else's house, I decided to do a deep clean of my own apartment. Gotta practice what you preach, right? It was actually kind of… therapeutic? I put on some music and just went to town. It took a few hours, but my place looked (and smelled) amazing afterward. I was actually pretty proud of myself.

Finding My First Client

Getting that first client was the hardest part. I asked around, told some friends, even posted on my social media. It took a little while, but finally, my friend's mom needed someone to help her out. Score!

The First Cleaning Gig

  • Anxiety:I Was a little bit nervous.
  • Work Hard:I Showed up on time, cleaner in hand.
  • Do Good:I Did the job.

I was super nervous, not gonna lie. I showed up on time, cleaner in hand, and just… went for it. I remembered everything I’d practiced in my own place, took my time, and made sure to be extra careful with everything. It was definitely tiring, but seeing how happy she was with the result made it totally worth it. She even gave me a little extra, which was awesome!

What I Learned

This whole thing is definitely a learning process. I realized I need to get a good pair of gloves (my hands were not happy), and maybe invest in some knee pads for all that scrubbing. But honestly, it was a pretty good start. I'm excited to see where this goes!
